EchoV is a powerful AR glasses that is equipped with multiple MEMS microphones scattered around the glasses that will assist deaf and hearing-impaired individuals to identify the position of the speaker, in addition to an accompanying application that will revolutionize learning for deaf and hearing-impaired students.

EchoV is a novel intelligent approach that will introduce a compact solution that will empower deaf and hearing-impaired students in the community and allow them to join any desirable educational institution to pursue their dreams without any limitations

Since EchoV relies on speech signal processing, students will not have any problem if they are communicating with a person wearing a mask or face covered. These features are not available in the market and were endorsed by Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services for their impactful usage in the deaf or hearing-impaired student’s educational journey.


TEAM

Our team was formed with one aim, to give people with hearing disabilities a fighting chance in society, by creating solutions that will allow them to perceive their surroundings, and most importantly give them the prospect of higher education, in any educational institute.

Our team consists of two members:

Ali Mohammed (Left); an electrical engineer working as a Research Assistant in Ajman University (AU), UAE. He participated and won several national and international competitions.

Wessam Shehieb (Right); a master’s student studying electrical engineering in Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), Malaysia. He also works as an electrical engineering teaching assistant at AU. additionally, he supervised, participated and won in many national and international competitions.
